Of all the toys.....

...this is what my daughter chooses to play with. Yes...that would be the bottom of the swing. I must get down there and see what is so interesting with that thing!

We are now in full on baby proofing mode. If anyone has any tips or tricks, please share! Luckily, Ryan is off work this Friday and we are going to spend the day converting the bonus room into a full fledged play room. The permanent baby gate was installed this morning as it is just a matter of days before Elliot starts to crawl. She is already up on her hands and knees rocking back and forth!

As mentioned before, we are still into tags...on everything! Here is what Elliot is doing as I type this post...

The spit up continues and it reached a new low yesterday. Keaton has been known to spit up on everyone as his term of endearment. But for those he really loves, he has hit them directly in the face. As I have continued to laugh and scoff at those who have been hit "head on" with shrapnel, I didn't know that my day would eventually come. Yesterday as I was buckling KG into his car seat, I leaned over to kiss him and you guessed it...not just on the mouth but IN the mouth. And not that sweet little creamy white spit up, we are talking full blown, projectile with chunks! (TMI I know, but I am looking for some sympathy here.) I can honestly say I have never had a guys puke on me as I was giving him a kiss. I guess there is a first for everything!
(Note the wet shoulder that I am currently sporting!)

But how could I ever be mad at this face...

Could you not just eat him up?

Setting up an entire room for their play zone was the best thing we've ever done. We converted our dining room with nothing but their toys and gated it off. They play so well in there by themselves and I can still see them. Containment became a huge issue once they were mobile. I love it now that they play by themselves every morning. It is the only way to get things done. You'll be glad you did the same. As for the chucking...I haven't experienced it to that degree but doesn't it smell horrible- and ours was soy which I think was worse. Our poor carpets. We had quilts everywhere for months to protect it. I notice you do too. Hang in there it does finally go away. Cute pictures!

awww...terrified! it actually got into your mouth! ahhhh!!! there are only two things as a nurse that i can't take: 1) anyone throwing up at any time; 2) "code browns" that i have to clean up! should make mommyhood pretty interesting, eh?

Yesterday, I decided to clean up the carrier/base to put into storage. I started wiping down the base and noticed some crusty orangish substance all in the crevices...dried up spit up. YUCK-O. And not just a little...like, tons of it...chunky, crusty, and gross! I threw up a little in my mouth as I chiseled it out & then wiped up what had turned back to liquid when the 409 spray hit it. I swear, it WILL go away (Clayton's did around 10 and a half months).
