We're Back...

...from Arizona?

Yep, Ryan surprised me with a trip to Phoenix, Arizona. You might be wondering, as I was, what in the world would we be doing going to Arizona. Well...the answer is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!

We had an amazing time and besides one day of pure relaxing, we were actually quite busy. We ended up at the Arizona Grand Resort & Spa to be greeted with a list of all the things the resort had to offer. We ended up sitting down and actually planning out what all we wanted to be sure and take in while we had this opportunity. So even on vacation, we had a schedule going. Oh well, at least it was a schedule filled with fun activities and not work!

The resort was great and even though Phoenix was experiencing unusually cold weather, the resort kept their pools at 80 degrees! Getting in and out of the pool was eye opening but once you were in the water felt great! During our 5 day stay we ate a several great restaurants, enjoyed the nearby Outlet Mall, went to see a movie (Juno...highly recommend!), took Ryan to his 1st Spin Class (which was overlooking the mountains as the sun set) & his 1st horseback ride through the desert, a ballroom dancing class of Argentine Tango, fantastic and much needed massages & manicures. We did try to go to the on site water park but they apparently do not keep their pools as warm and well, we are old now and do care about the water temp more than we did as kids. But there were kids everywhere enjoying the wave pool and lazy river.

Overall the trip was relaxing and brought us back a little sanity that we were desperately needing after experiencing the last six months of teething trauma. The kids did great and were so excited to see us. Elliot was glued to me all day yesterday and Keaton would not leave his daddy's side when he came home from work last night. They took a 3 hour nap yesterday and after fighting to go to sleep last night, actually slept til 7:45 this morning! I think we are back on schedule and actually made it back to the gym today (even thought we had an active vacation, the restaurants still caught up with us!) I am so ready to get back to some normalcy as I know everyone is after the holidays.

Here is a slide show of the holidays and what all we have been up to. The first part is our trip to my hometown to see my family. The second part is Christmas here with the Halfords & the kids getting to turn the carseats around (FINALLY) on Christmas Eve and the last is from out trip and the god forsaken Cotton Bowl. Oh yeah, forgot to mention we stopped in Dallas on our way back and met up with Kyle, Erin, Bruce & Vicki for the Cotton Bowl. We still had a great time other than having to watch that game in person. And for those of you who know Kyle & Erin...they are having a boy!!! One more option for Miss Elliot's chosing (poor thing is surrounded by boys)!

Enjoy all the pics and can't wait to see what all 2008 brings!
