Prayers Needed

Please check out the new button off to the right.  This is for a sweet and dear blog friend that is in desperate need of prayer for her own health as well as the health of her unborn son, Stellan.  Please take a moment to check out her blog and lift her entire family up in prayer.

James 5:16  "...pray for each other so that you may be healed.  The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective!"

Baptism Buschlen Style!

This weekend we were blessed with an addition to our eternal family!  Jack decided to give his life to His new "best friend" and invite all his friends & neighbors to witness his baptism.

So what do you do after a baptism in 100 degree weather???

Invite everyone in afterwards!

Congratulations Jack (and Jason & Kyra) for your decision and example of maturity in such a young life.  May we all have your enthusiasm and unashamed joy for Him!

And Then....

I thought I was going to dinner with some friends we haven't seen in a while....

and then my Ryan had thrown me a surprise party and I walked into the restaurant and all our closest friends were there....

and then we had cake & spanish coffee...

and then we had John Samuel's birthday on Sunday...

and then the kids woke up with fever on Monday....

and then Elliot disrobed (again) and pooped in literally twenty different places in the playroom...
and then her & Keaton decided to play in it....
and then I spent the rest of the morning steam cleaning the playroom...
and then they took a nap a woke up with fevers around 102...
and then we went to the Dr....
and then they tested Keaton for strep, which gaged him...
and then...oh yes....he puked ALL over me, down the back, in the shoes, covering me...
and then we found out it was something viral so nothing we can do...

and then they woke up Tuesday with no fevers...
and then Miss Elliot wore big girl panties for half a day with no accidents...

and then my mom came up for my birthday on Wednesday...
and then we went swimming with the Shewmakers....

and then my dad came for the weekend....
and then we went swimming Saturday & Sunday...
and then Elliot & my mom got stung by red wasp but Elliot also learned to go under water holding her breath...

and then we crashed and napped all day on Sunday.

So that is what's been going on.

Update & Helpful Hints

To the glory of God who is so loving and forgiving...I am coming to you from my belovedMacBook! (This is leading me to the helpful hint)

The other night I was finishing up my nightly routine of checking email and updated blogs. I had a cup of water on the nightstand and vividly remember thinking, "I should probably take that cup of water to the bathroom. Oh, I'll do it when I get done". Flash forward and I am putting my computer down on the floor to charge and laid my notebook on top. Turning to get the cup (oh yes, you can envision it now in all its slow motion glory) I hit the cup with my arm and it tumbles to the floor, hitting a pillow, turning over on top of my notebook/computer and finding its resting place on the carpeted floor. UUUUUUGGGGGGHHHHH. Panic is not even the word to describe what I was feeling. I quickly picked it up, ran for a towel and wiped down every inch that even had the slightest splash on it.

My panic slowly turned to anger at myself because I just normally don't do stupid stuff like this. Other than when I was pregnant (I totally had this tripping problem) I am not normally clumsy. Thanks to my loving, and randomly at the time patient husband's advice, I quickly hit every MacBook chat room there was I think. Luckily, I am only one in a thousand people to apparently ever have this "accident" happen.

So what I learned I gladly share with you in the off chance you ever have one of those moment that I never pray you do....
  • If your computer is not off, turn it off immediately!
  • Take out the battery and wipe off any excess water that you see.
  • If needed, blow dry out the water with your blow dryer set on cool (not to state the obvious but when your in this situation, its hard to remember to think logically!)
  • Open your laptop and lay it open with the keyboard down to allow it to dry over night.
  • Put your laptop and battery in a cool, DRY place and allow it to dry for atleast 24hrs (some of the chats said even 2-3 days if the spill was bad)
  • They all stated "DON'T call Apple as they have NO sympathy for liquid spills and will not cover anything under warranty for this."
Luckily, mine started back up after recharging the battery for 12 hrs and no problems so far. Trust me, I know how lucky I am and this puppy will be no where near any liquids from this day forward!

Update on the MV (thanks Jill for the cooler nickname for the 'ol mini....still can't type the entire word!)
I just had to fill it up with its 1st tank of gas. I thought I would let it go to empty to see what kind of gas mileage I was getting. So the 1st tank I got 350 city miles. That's a little over 18mpg! And best news of all...it only cost $67.50 to fill up the tank!!! For those of you that don't know...that is about $15 cheaper than the 'ol Tahoe! Besides the fact that I went longer than 6 days before I had to fill it up again. So that is a bright side of the MV for ya.

Here are a few more pics from the 4th party that is annually held in our neighborhood on the 3rd. Last year we had a firework show that was bigger than the adjoining town to us and the Walton families personal show! Since that show about put all our families in debt, although it was awesome, we decided to scale back this year. We still had an awesome cookout, the kids had fun playing in the water, the ice cream man strategically came at just the right time, and the smell of bug spray filled the air. Oh I love summer!

CHECK OUT THE SKY THAT NIGHT!
WE LOVE US SOME POPSICLES!

THE MEN PLAYED WASHERS BEFORE PUTTING ON THE SHOW FOR US.
EVA PRE-POPSICLE!
EVA POST-POPSICLE! SHE WAS STAINED UNTIL THE NEXT DAY!
GORGEOUS CAMERON!
BABY LILY WAS THERE AND TOTALLY IMPRESSED BY THE FIREWORKS!
ELLIOT REDISCOVERED HER SANDBOX
THE HIT TOY OF THE NIGHT!
SUMMER LOVIN'!
THEY TOLD US THAT NIGHT THAT THEY ARE BOYFRIEND & GIRLFIREND!
ELLIOT'S NEW THING IS TO STICK HER HEAD IN THE WATER. SHE HAS GONE UNDER IN THE POOL THREE TIMES AND ALREADY HOLDS HER BREATH EVERY TIME! SHE MIGHT JUST BE OUR LITTLE FISH.
Hope you all had a wonderful 4th as well! Bring on the birthday now!!!
