Photo Alli

If you haven't checked out the Photo Alli link I have listed over to the right, please take a moment to do so today. Allison is a neighbor and friend who is also an amazing photographer! She was able to take the kids pictures back in February and captured a moment in time that we will cherish forever! We received our prints last night and they are simply gorgeous! If you are in the neighborhood, stop by and take a look.

My only regret is that we didn't take the kids pictures sooner. Sure we have thousands of snapshots with my camera but we put off the professional ones and wouldn't you know, at 4 months old, it is hard to get any pictures of kids sleeping. They were just too curious. In fact, this one of Elliot "sleeping" was just a long blink I think but at least it appears that she is peacefully sleeping.
If you are in the local area and need a good photographer, please contact Allison and set something up! She is great, takes her time and truly captures the real moments.

Thanks again Allison! Can't wait to take the next round of pictures!

Our Other Girls

I must share with you two of the most beautiful girls in the world. For those of you that don't know, these are my nieces Trae (age 8) and Tori (age 3).

They are currently in Fresno, CA which feels like millions of miles away! And for those of you who haven't met them, they are two of the funniest people you will ever meet. Tori's thing to say currently is that things are not "necessary" (yes, she is only 3!). The thing with these girls is it just seems they have grown up too fast. They started talking and walking so early that it didn't seem like they were our babies for very long...and I can see the same thing starting to happen with our kids!

Trae & Tori, today's blog is for you. Meme & RyRy are so proud of the beautiful young ladies you are becoming! Trae, we are so proud of your riding skills you are starting to develop and for the wonderful artist that you are. Tori, we are proud of you for pee peeing in the potty and for knowing all the dances to the Cheetah Girls. Thank you for being such great nieces and for being such great big cousins to Keaton & Elliot.

We miss you everyday and love you even more!

PS...Thanks Jim for letting me steal the picks from you blog today!

This is why we love having twins...

We had a great weekend in Benton! Boy, you forget the hot and humidity of home until you go back. That is one thing I do not miss about living in Central Arkansas!
Before we heading home Friday, we went to the Doctor for our 6 month checkup and shots. Elliot now weighs in at 11lbs 14ozs and Keaton is at 12lbs 4ozs. Still little squirts (I think we are still in the 5th percentile) but all is well and they are already advanced in development for their age and size. Dr. Cadle said don't be surprised if they are walking in the next few months! She also warned us to start babyproofing the house now so we are going to have to get busy around here! We also got to begin foods so I am sure I will have some good poop stories for you in the near future.
All of the family is doing well. My grandaddy looked great and you can really tell the physical therapy is helping him out. It was also great that Keaton and Elliot got to be with their other great cousins. It was fun seeing all the kids there and watching Keaton & Landon already begin to interact with each other. Before we know it, they will be fighting over the money eggs at Grandmurna's house. Of all the newest "greatgrands", poor Elliot is the only girl! She will just have to wait for her cousins Trae & Tori to come and visit this summer to play with the girls. Then poor Keaton will be in Barbie hell! Sorry I do not have any pictures of all the cousins to share. I was so busy visiting and keeping up with kids that I forgot to take any pics.

There was one pic we snapped this weekend though which will explain the title of this post. At 4 months, we had to separate the kids from sleeping together because they were waking each other up all night long. Once they had their own beds, they immediately began sleeping through the night. But this weekend, being at mom & dad's, we had to bunk the kids up again for the first time. The pic to the right is how we discovered them asleep when we came up to go to bed. I guess they had to be touching to go to sleep. We are so blessed to have twins and I hope they will always be this sweet and loving towards each other (although we did get into a hair pulling contest this morning...LOTS of screaming!). If you are out there and are trying for a baby, pray for twins! There is nothing better!

6 Months Old....ALREADY

So my babies turned the big 6 months today! I can't even believe how time flies. How is it that trying to have a baby & the pregnancy part seem to take forever and then once you have a child, life starts flying by! I guess I have been getting pretty nostalgic this week as I have been consumed with taking pictures and trying to capture everything as not to forget or miss something.

Some milestones we are crossing at 6 months are...cutting our first teeth, trying to crawl and standing. I really think these kids just might take off walking before they even attempt to crawl. Elliot loves to smile and make this weird laughing noise while Keaton loves to talk and squeal. Ryan & I were just talking today about how it is time to start babyproofing the house! Two toddlers will definitely be something new for us.

Well tomorrow we are off to the Dr. (pray for them having to get shots and the big weigh in!) and then we are off to Benton to see the folks. For any of you that check out my uncle George's blog, be sure and see the update on his surgery. He came out fine and of course has some funny recovery stories (poor OR nurses).

Here is a look back at the last six months....

Chucking!

Anyone else out there have a kid who is or was a big spitter?

Keaton spits up more than you can imagine! We have resorted to the point of not even wearing clothes anymore if we are at home. Poor thing has such cute outfits but no one ever gets to see them because they are always covered up with a bib. Supposidly, he was suppose to slow down once he started cereal...what does he do, spits up his oatmeal now! Between him spitting up his cereal and sissy trying to self feed, I am a mess by the end of dinner time!

If you have experienced this and have any good tricks of the trade to get this under control, please send me your comments!

ps...Here is a bonus shot for today at the request of my uncle George. This is becoming a family favorite photo!

Here We Go....

Well...I decided to give this blog thing a try. After reading my brother's & uncle's blog everyday for the past two years, I have decided to give it a go. And since my family lives away from me, this will keep everyone updated on what all is going on here in NWA.

For those of you just checking this out, I will catch you up on my life so far...

  • Married my college sweetheart & best friend, Ryan Halford.

  • Lived in Little Rock for two years & then moved to NWA.

  • Been in NW Arkansas for 6 years now.

  • Struggled for almost 4 years to have a baby.

  • Ended up having to do IVF.

  • Blessed with the two most precious babies in the world!

My blog will consist not only on what all is going on in our lives but more so to have a place to talk about my struggles to have a baby and now the joys & lessons learned from being a mother of twins! I hope my random thoughts might be a blesssing and provide insight for anyone out there looking for advice on infertility and carrying mulitples. I know I sure searched for all the info I could while I was pregnant!
